Offline hotel stocktake with Kohi

Kohi, the hotel inventory software published in Tahiti by Devlab, installs as a web app on the phone. In a storeroom, basement or bungalow without a network, counts, observations and photos stay on the device, in a queue specific to the account and property, then go to the server when the connection returns, which re-checks permissions.

Enter data without a network

The team opens its tasks, scans the location’s QR code or picks the zone, then records differences and attaches photos. When a zone has genuinely been checked and nothing has moved, “Nothing has changed” is enough.

  • Drafts and photos kept until the server acknowledges them
  • Separate queue per account and per property
  • On-device photo search: up to three models suggested, human choice

Sync without loss

When the network returns, the queue goes to the server. A local entry is not a confirmed write: the app separates what is still waiting on the device from what the server accepted, and the acknowledgement must be checked before clearing data from the phone.

Keep access under control

Preloaded data reflects the last loaded state. A revocation decided while the phone was offline is applied by the server when the network returns: nobody keeps a withdrawn permission.

What offline mode does not do

Offline, the phone does not see changes made by others since the last load, and pending log entries are only sent when capture is reopened with a network. A photo resemblance is never enough to identify an item.

Frequently asked questions

Does Kohi work without Wi-Fi in bungalows?

Yes. Kohi installs as a web app on the phone. Counts, observations and photos entered without a network stay on the device, then sync when the connection returns.

What if two people count the same zone offline?

The first observation sent goes through; the second is flagged as a conflict. Kohi then offers a comparison with the up-to-date stock, followed by a justified and confirmed correction linked to the original. Official stock only changes after the usual review.

Is an app store download required?

No. Kohi is an installable web app (PWA): it is added to the phone’s home screen from the browser, without going through an app store.
